As Seen On TV Leak Seal

Couple months ago garbage disposal started to leak. crack in side.
DW says what about that stuff she bought from TV. Roughed up with sand paper and wiped with acetone,let dry, sprayed disposal leak, let dry, sprayed again. Two months later, still no leak. Disposal is plastic. Works for now.

Don't know if I would use it on an RV, but it works well in the duck pond. Had a crack in the plastic at the bottom. Used RTV calk but that leaked. Dried out the pond sprayed a couple of coats 12 hrs apart, held up fine all summer. I am going to spray another coat on it this winter when I do maintenance, I have been happy with it.

Don't waste your time with this stuff. Get a tube of DICOR 501 self leveling sealing compound. Use a chalking gun tool. I believe it sells for about $8 or $9 a tube. Best bet would be to have a RV center perform a SealTech leak check. They pressurize your MH & use a soap solution to find any leak on the roof or sides.

As Cacherjoe says, the key is more than one coat. Don't put it on really thick. The developers of this product are people I personally know. They invented thier product and sold it to the US military for some years before deciding to take it to the public.

I've used it and sold it in a store I managed. I sold a boat load of it and never had a complaint. One big thing with any of these As Seen on TV things is realistic expectations. This stuff will work if you do several light coats allowing it to dry between coats. Don't expect it to be a "forever fix". It is great to give you time to get a problem fixed fully. When I used it on my TT, it gave me 2 years to get the roof done properly.

Permatex sells some stuff that works very well. I have an oil leak on my Goldwing, where the rear case bolts on. To repair it requires pulling the engine. I sprayed it with brake parts cleaner, and then once it was dry, I sprayed on the Permatex. That was about 5 years ago, and it still has not leaked.

Now as far as the "Seen on TV" brand, I have no idea - hey didn't that infomercial guy get thrown in jail recently?

A neighbor bought some and tried it. Neither one of us could see any difference between the "but wait, there's more..." stuff and common rubberized undercoating that's sold in any auto parts store or Walmart for a lot less.

While I haven't used it yet, it probably has to be applied to a clean, dry surface. Probably wouldn't hurt to scuff plastic.
