Atwood XT model....10 gallon tank-----16 gallon 'equivalent'
Water is controlled via t-stat to 160*F. It is then controlled to an output temp of 130*F via a mixing valve.
Mixing valve CAN get clogged with calcium/crud with 'stuff' coming from water heater/plugging up hot side of mixing valve---- typically results in luke warm or even cold water output.
Then you have to remove mixing valve and try cleaning or end up replacing it
Atwood XT Models
Replacing your older version 10 gal will require wiring changes.
Older version 120V AC was direct fed to element/12V DC was just for propane
Newer version 12V DC controls both functions/common control board/common set of tstats
This applies to Standard and XT Models so you WILL need wiring changes
Wiring changes 3E/4E (and 9E/10E for 6 gal) PGs 22-25
Standard VS XT Model
XT mixing valve issues.....PITA to remove/clean/$$$ to replace
Standard 10 gallon.......2 adults FTd always had hot water. Cold in/hot out (140*F T-stat). Use electric & propane same time for FAST recovery if necessary.
