Yes it's true but mine doesn't for some reason. The light is burned out as well, however.. I cant remember exact details but my something stops working if CO2 is detected. I hit the reset button on the CO2 detector and the something works again. Once, before we moved into our RV, we had the CO2 detector tested and apparently it works because it is supposed to shut the something down when it "detects".
