97 Bago Vectra Auto Park Light
System can be heard disengaging and does work when put in PARK. However light stays on when put in drive and I travel. I did check fluid in reservoir. Replace the actuator cylinder lest than a year a go.
OK, first order of business is to change out the green or brown switch and they are both the same. If that doesn't put your light out, then keep the old one on board for a spare. Next, change the gray one and again, keep the old one if still good.
If you still have fluid and especially if you can hear the pump stop after a few and not not keep recycling, then I'm guess that's it's just the gray light pressure relay, which is all it does. Turn the light off and on, that is.
So, key on, engine off, go from P to R, N, or D and whereas you should hear the pump come on and then stop, as soon as it makes pressure, thereby releasing the brake.
Remember the drive shaft parking brake is DEFAULT ON and the high pressure pump must run to release the powerful spring that engages this brake.
Again, there's no one on the planet that knows more than Roger about an AP. He will be more than glad to help, along with sending you a wealth of info for your files.
