I thought I had my 1996 P30 Auto Park repaired and ready to go. I was certainly wrong. I haven't been able to find instructions to adjust the linkage or the switch on the gear shifter/steering column. I removed the large metal shield and adjusted the linkage to the switch cam and adjusted the switch so it is closer to the roller pen. I'm sure I didn't get it right.
Now, when I shift from park to R, it works fine. It will not release in any other position.
I once read a post by someone (I don't remember who or where) once who said to use a (certain size drill bit) to adjust the cam for the switch. The cam has a notch or half hole and I think it should line up with the hole in the cam lever.
I'm not sure. I don't know how far in the switch should be in toward the cam either.
I know I can bi-pass the switch and use a manual switch. But I want the system to operate like it is designed to.
Help, help, help please.
