Have a sprinter 2008'ha any one installed a battery tray under their hood?if so need some ideas how to install the tray against the fender sheet metal,thanks

I would like to mount One more in the eng. compartment to give me two batteries. The Pleasureway plateau has only one battery and is located in the eng. bay. I've been told that the eng.bay heat is not good for AGM batteries. The battery bracket located on the drivers side should be available from the Mb dealer for a high price.Pete

Hi OKPETE. The Pleasure-way Plateau has one battery for the coach located under the rear carpet area on left side under the rear power couch or in one model the rear left side couch. The other battery is the truck battery under the hood. What model is your "2011 Sprinter"? It is true that excessive heat is not good for AGM batteries. I have yet to find a location for a 2nd coach battery, which is what you are talking about. I would like to have one too??AL

I would like to have one too??ALHello,All the info I have on the plateaus, indicates that the chassis battery is located under the drivers side floorboard, which is where my chassis battery is located. The location away from engine bay is an indication that MB feels heat is a problem. My coach battery is located on drivers side of engine bay and is a 105 amh german battery. I have a 2012 Pleasureway RB WITH 2011 CHASSIS. Absolutely love this floor plan, because we would leave the couch down anyway. Like being able to swivel both front seats for eating/tv ect. However, would love one more battery. Purchased the tire carrier to remove spare from under bed. Love the space and would rather not have AMG batteries taking up my newly acquired storage space. However, do check your chassis battery location. I've not seen a MB late model that didn't have the chassis battery under the driver side floorboard.Thanks for your reply and have a good weekend.Pete

OKPETE OIC.I remember now. The newer models than mine ie the dualie models at 22.9 ft have the batteries where you mentioned. Sorry. First thing to go is memory next is--I really don't remember... I have the big MB German battery for the engine, up front under the hood and it has been trucking along fine since new--ie since 2007!! I use a small solar battery plugged into my 12v and have it sitting on dash.Keeps battery happy.CheersAL

Speaking of memory, I can't see how two batteries of any size can fit in the late models of the Mb chassis inthe eng.bay. iff you are moving often, the one battery is adequate. However,if you stay put in fall weather and run the furnace, one must use the generator. I've modified the Benny with resonator and suppertrapp which helps. I'm more concerned with effecting others camping experience. So, my only choice will be AGM batteries under the bed and adding solar panels which are not inexpensive or living with one battery. Really enjoy the Pleasureway and have found the factory support exceptional after my Airtstream experiences. By the way, how we're the steelhead runs this year?Pete
