We always put our awning back in. Only takes a few minutes, which could save a lot of headache. This is what happen to a friend of ours on the beach. His was anchor, strong wind, blew it up and OVER his 5th wheel. It did a lot more damage then just to the awning. Be safe and wise, spent the few minutes.
