awning let down lever stuck/frozen in down position

Just got our Class C motorhome from winter storage. Our awning "let down lever" is frozen in the "pull awning down" position and I do mean FROZEN/STUCK...any idea how to get it to so we can pull our a...

I did exactly the same as j-d when mine jammed up. I had to pull kinda hard, but the lever switched over. While we are on the subject, can that mechanism be lubed internally?
