I would never touch another RVer coach. Period. Call me whatever name you like. I will jump out and help any RV owner with anything I can but I am not going it alone. What happens when he gets home and asks why you broke his awning and who is going to pay for it?
As to an awnings ability to handle the winds, there are a number of new awning types including some that have a pivot built in. This will allow the awning to "collapse" in high wind as well as rain and then restore themselves to the original position. Watching them is very scary and you just know that it's all about to go down the toilet but it doesn't and that's why they were designed that way.
