AWNINGS

We have had our awning deploy during high side winds three different times. How to stop this?
The wind in West Texas and Montana usually is the cause, it gets under the hard cover and pulls the canvas off the roll, which then deploys over the top of the coach. Domestic 9100 21 foot awning.

Zip ties are a cheap fix, as are Velcro strips.

Tying the arms with any of these is useless, the awning will still deploy in high winds.
The only to stop it is like path 1 suggested, installing the Awning lock.

    Been there done that!!

I made an awning stop for mine with a bolt latch that bolts to the top of the awning and slides into one of the end cap holes. They also sell awning stops at CW and other places.
