Gasoline, without a doubt. Propane is for green people, such as the fed. government and with the buses and such in some of our National Parks.
That should be the least of your concerns with all the work, you have ahead of you and assuming you actually and seriously plan on restoring the thing.
My feelings are that there is no way you can win over buying an older rig in very good condition, in the first place and that's with doing all the work yourself.
I had a 87 Pace Arrow in great condition back in 07, both in it's looks and mechanically as well. Best cash offer was $3K and finally traded it for a boat in 08 and bidding it ...good riddance... Actually was in need of another boat and one of the best trades, I ever made, with the boat needing about $700 worth of cosmetics and having a value of about $12K. Still have it and it's probably worth between $10 - 12K now.
