Hey Burl..How did you weather the storm?
My cousin's fishing camp down at Leeville sat in the "eye" for 5 hours.
No word yet about any damages, since he is snug with his boats up at Zachary.
BR also got the eye, or whatever they called it for this wacky and oddly formed tropical storm. The eye was essentially stuck about 70 mi. south of BR for 24 hrs before slowly moving thru BR yesterday. We had relentless wind gusting to maybe 70 occasionally, and a total of maybe 7" rain here.
But all the really bad activity was in the eastern "half" of this thing from its eye out 200 mi. east. All this wind (up to 90 mph) and rain (up to 15"+) hit New Orleans and southeast LA plus MS, AL, and even Pensacola. So much Gulf water was pushed ashore that it is still doing serious damage in Slidell and southern MS right now.
We lost elec for 24 hrs in town, but 100s of thousands will be w/o air-conditioning in LA, MS, AL for up to a week or so.
Yuck
