Gene, no I have not pursued it any farther. I think the carpet is stapled but I am not certain. I am pretty sure the wires run under the floor as you suggest. If I could just get a look at them, I might be able to fix the bad spot. I figure it is likely be bad right where it disappears under the dinette base.
