My memory of the last time I tried to concisely figger all this is that whenever there is AC, the batts get charged. (and, I guess when the alternator of engine is running, as well)
I am not sure I understand it either, lol! I haven't had time to sit down and draw it out so I can connect the dots in my mind.
I have figured out one thing: If you arrive at a CG and plug in, and if you DO NOT switch the house battery on ("USE"), it will NOT get charged. When you plug in, the red light on the battery switch comes on, which is the same thing it does when you switch it to USE. But apparently that's misleading in this case; it does not mean you are in USE mode. It only means the house circuits are getting power from either the converter or the battery. The house battery won't be engaged unless you physically push the switch to USE.
When I looked at my diagram this morning, that possibility crossed my mind.
