I can only help with the decals. Use a heat gun or possibly a hair dryer. You don't have to melt them, just get them warmed up. Keep the heat moving ahead of your pulling off the decals. You'll get the technique after a while.
Now, if they are truly hardened into place, sometimes solvents become necessary. But if yours is anything like mine, they won't be that bad yet. I removed two of the logo decals which went bad. One over the cab, and one on the curb side.
