Just checking in to "register" our 2007 R-Vision TL. We are first time owners of any type of camper or motorhome. We have long had the desire to purchase "something" to travel with our dogs.
Currently we have a greyhound and a small mutt. We considered purchasing a camper but then we would have to sell a car and buy a tow vehicle. Didn't want to trade my 4 cyl in for a monster truck. DH decided he did not want to tow a trailer. Next we looked at C class and one or two A class MH's. Concern about cost of any work on an A plus the size of most scared us away from them. Next the C. They were our main focus until we came across the used TL. It is 29' with 3 slides. When the dining area and sofa area are out we have a huge (relatively speaking) floor space in the living room. The area above the cab has all the electronics.
We like the smaller 8 cyl Chevy motor, hope it is fuel friendlier than the V10 Ford. DH is 6'4" and we like the extra leg room for the driver. It seems to be a good size for novices driving. The one thing we lose in this size is storage space. It seems like a lot less than the Class C's we viewed but we seem to find a place for everything we need. \
We plan to take it out for a couple of days each month to get used to driving and setting it up. We will take some longer trips later in he year, working our way up to a month or more on the road.
We are not handy - so we will not be contributing to the conversations about interior or exterior changes. It is all we can do is mount the bike rack over the spare tire on the back. :D
So, Howdy!
