In open flat country in clear weather within 45 mi of the TV tower in a TREELESS cg and knowing just where to point the batwing antenna (booster amp on), your HDTV can scan and recieve stations coming from THAT direction.
To get any other signals from towers from any other direction and meeting above requirements, you gotta know where to point and rescan.
This was done for cable companies who are laughing at those who are now stuck w/ ridiculously directional/clear-line-of-sight OTA.
