I had considered that design, but the lower cabinet veneer is very thin, and it looks like I may need to add blocking behind inside the cabinet anyway.
Our has been up for 6 years. Recently noticed when I brake hard the shelf does move and make a clunking sound. Not a problem but it has loosened over the years. Need to tighten up the brackets. It is out over the stair well and only gets used when DW needs the extra counter space for cooking. The link I showed is similar to brackets I am using. The ones I have are SS that I picked up in Elkhart, IN.
