CJBill asked "Could someone tell me if one did not open up the sofa how wide the sleeping space would be? Also if one did that could the back cushions be removed to give additional width?" My wife, who slept this way for 4 months, says it is narrow like any other couch but she had no problems. Removing the back cushions is not at all easy and probably would be a permanent and uncomfortable change. The double settee option seems to lack a dining area which would be a big drawback.
