Depreciation is a sad fact of life. On the other hand, I have put almost 84K miles on my unit and feel I have gotten good value from it. By the time I depreciate it (business asset), it's total cost is going to be in the low $30s. I briefly thought about trading it in on a newer model (never new again, now that they are popular), a few months ago, but decided that it would be cheaper to buy a big TT, and try and see if the GM claim of 200K miles on the chassis will hold true. I am optomistic that I can get at least another 80K+ miles with 3-10K investment. Lets add those up. If I sell myself, maybe 17-19K. Buy a 27-8' B+ for about 50K (1-2 yr old). Less 18K = 32K more and I have one size that must fit all needs. In 10 yrs, B+ worth is neglible. OR keep Trail Lite + 10K for maint, and buy my Sydney edition Outback new for 23K (incl tax), and I have spent 33K, but have more residual value and much more capability for the next 10 years. Decision to keep was easy.
