Burlmart, the battery absolutely needs to be serviced regularly. On the 06 units, R-Vision finally listened to the owners and included a larger door and a slide out tray for twin batteries. I believe on yours, the battery is in a carrier on the passenger door side which is accessed by the small outer door. You will need a small mirror on a stick to check the electrolyte level. You can get the mirror from most tool sellers, it is usually called an "Inspection mirror" and has a telescoping shaft attached. I used to have to use one all the time. If your Converter is the standard unit, it can literally boil your battery dry if it is left plugged in all the time. Good idea to bring a turkey baster,to top off the water, and a long shafted screwdriver to pop up cell covers. You will also need distilled water, not drinking water to add to each cell. After I am done, I like to wash off my tools immediately with lots of fresh water because there is always some residual battery acid around the top of the battery and it invariably gets on the tools. Get it on your pants and you won't know till next time you wash them and holes will appear like magic in the fabric.
For the record, screws in the road can work their way into a tire while you drive and slowly let the air out overnight. You have just been lucky so far. Not as great a problem as it once was, because manufacturers use a lot less screws than they once did to hold cars together. The modern plastic fasteners just get smashed up. Over the last 15 years I have had my inside dual go down three times, do to road trash. The load capacity of the rear axle is dependent on all 4 tires being up and carrying their 1/4th of the load. Lose one tire and its neighbor has to work twice as hard and usually wont be able to do much more than get you off the highway to a safe place. always best to look at every rest stop, thump each morning before you start out and verify with a gauge at least once per week. In over 125K miles I have been lucky too, never a blowout like some folks have had. JMHO.
