I'm very fond of the Chevy because of its fine handling and roomy cockpit, that being said, I had several units on Ford chassis and they were reliable for me. I had problems with fuel pumps in the mid 90's, all fixed under warranty. I would get the VIN# , go to your local Ford garage and ask them to run a service history for you and assure yourself they are willing to work on the unit for you. Some Ford and Chevy garages won't work on motorhomes.
If you were thinking $32,500 and would be happy with that price what have you got to lose by making the offer. Bird in the hand if you know what I mean. Cash always talks. Promises are just that promises. Ford will have a greater GVW and should give similar MPG if driven conservatively and well maintained. Best place to ask the insurance question is with your agent. I have State Farm and they require 1 year in advance, but their rate was very attractive as I have several other policies and use my unit off and on all year.
