Maiden voyage complete....no major problems, but alittle sad our mileage was only 9.3...of course we had to climb up and over the cascade mountains and it is a long hard pull from Vantage on the columbia up and over the pass, I think I visably watched the gas gauge go down and down!!! I drove 7 hours and into the night (as DH had worked and been up since 3AM) through the nasty freeway traffic in Tacoma and did quite well, had to have both hands on the wheel most of the time, it was quite windy over part of the pass and the river.
Now for some stupid observations...I didn't realise the day/night shades would go all the way up to see true daylight, one of my adult sons did, that was a relief....now the windows don't seem nearly as dark to look out and I can see where the "fish-eye" could work and will look into this soon. Boy do I need to wash off some bugs, can use my regular wash stuff for the cab, what do you use for the body of the MH and then the roof is rubber by appearance, I'm sure we would need something special for this....how often do you wash the roof?? Will be storing it under cover for the winter, should we wait until spring??
The freezer came in handy for the 30 fillets of sea bass the boys caught, cleaned them up and wrapped them the day before when we were about ready to leave. Bad thing, didn't catch any keepable salmon, they caught 4, all natural fish and had to release them. Expensive to go over and not have any to bring home. Out of 24 on the boat only 3 caught the 2 fish limit, and 8 caught 1 fish to take home. Probably our last trip to Westport Washington, salmon capital of the world...or whatever they say!!!
