gkreutzer - Wish my unit was at home, I would take my exhaust fan down and look to see what I have between the hood and side wall. If you do wind up having to cut a hole in the back of your hood, I would try removing the metal about 3/4" smaller than the opening in the wall. Then I would bend the remaining 3/4" of metal outward to create a transition piece to the hole in the wall. Does any of this make sense? I know what I want to say, but finding it difficult to describe it in words.
