Hi jeanniewest and all:
I've been back a week now from our epic 6 week, 7100 mile trip. We left Colorado for Devils Tower, Wyoming; then on to the Black Hills from Deadwood to Custer for a week. Next, backroads across South Dakota (took advantage of their free $20 gas coupon), on to Minnesota south to north visiting family and friends for about 10 days. Then across North Dakota into Saskatchewan, Canada; up to Calgary; on to Banff and Jasper National Parks for a week. Then down to Whistler, took the ferry over to Vancouver Island for a week, and crossed back over to Washington to Olympic National Park. Then down the coast of Washington and Oregon, on to San Francisco where we visited our daughter and her family. Finally, across Nevada on Hwy. 50 "The Loneliest Highway" into Utah and back home to the mountains of Colorado. Whew! The Great Circle Route, as we called it. I always said we bought our B+ for going not staying. We averaged just over 11 mpg going the speed limit or +5. The rig ran flawlessly and we camped in about every conceivable camp site along the way, even a couple of Walmarts at the end of long travel days. We are really pleased with the Trail-Lite. We saw a lot and had many adventures. We took 2 mountain bikes on our front rack and golf clubs in our Thule box on the roof and of course our golden retriever, Sadie. What a wonderful vacation, but now I need a vacation after our vacation.
Hope to hear about others' trips.
