Have read where a tarp applied directly on the unit can scratch and damage the unit, cause more damage then when left to the elements, but are you talking of one that stands independently?? Seen a few of these around lately, I think they are unsightly for city living, but if you are in the country, who should care. We will rent a storage for the winter for $50 a month and hopefully be in it for next winter in the warmer climes!!!
