I've never had to add any oil between oil changes, nor has it ever overheated, even going through the pass into Albuquerque and back. Keep in mind that it's truck engine designed for heavy duty applications. My chassis is a 3500 Chevy Express chassis. It's rated for more 13,000 lb gross weight and I'm only at about 10,000.
