B+ motorhomes

Hey HappyJack, welcome to the group of B+ Fans. Have you gone through the "Fill the propane line drill". Each time I let the unit sit for a month or two, I have to turn on the propane at the tank, go inside and keep trying to light the burners on the stove till I can get them all started. That purges the air from the propane lines and gets the gas flowing. Then I can usually get the burner to light on the Fridge, set on propane. Propane is funny stuff, when the tank sits idle for a time, the liquid in the tank stops gassing off because the tank valve is closed tight to keep from losing propane. The lines bleed out slowly over time and room O2 replaces the propane, so you have to get the gas flowing again and then all the propane fired appliances usually start working again. Probably not a bad idea to get some propane check solution and check each of the places where there is a union with the propane system for leaks. Some folks use liquid soap solution others use a special indicator solution. Our rigs are small enough, that we can get to the unions pretty easily, one for each appliance and one at the gas manifold on the tank. If a line is broken, the whole system will not pressurise and nothing will work, so any leaks usually appear at the joins. Two other possibles, are rust flakes on the burner of the fridge, easily checked by looking in the burner access port with a flashlight, usually held in place at the base of the chimney with one screw, and they other possible problem is wasps nests or spiders webs in the in the burner throat of the furnace. Get a strong flashlight and look in the exhaust holes coming out of the furnace. ASAP buy a "Wasp Stopper" for your furnace, sort of a nichrome screen cover. Mud daubers love the smell of propane and like to build their nests in dark secluded places, just like the inside of your furnace. There is a small sail switch in the airstream which must be able to move when the fan starts to blow, or the logic circuit will not let the gas flow, as a safety device. If the mud daubers have got you, probably best to pay a certified tech to disassemble and clean the furnace and re-install it for you, if needed, it's money well spent. I'll do most anything I can for my motorhome myself, but I do not mess with propane devices. I sleep better at night that way, of course it helps if you trust the Tech. See Ya on the road, enjoy.
