Regarding using Benadryl.....I use it frequently with Herschel during allergy season, if his ears sudden "bloom" up and get itchy. It keeps him from scratching them and getting secondary infections. I use the plain 25mg generic pink tabs ...make sure that there are no other cold or pain ingredients in the product... just the benadryl tab. A lot of the "dog" folk use it just like we use it for ourselves, for minor issues that save on doc bills/$$$ and their prescription/$$$$! It is worth a try.
