There is an interesting study by the South Carolina DOT on how radar detector users behave when they think a trooper is nearby. It was done in construction zones that used "drone" radars that emit constantly. They also estimated in their study that 12% of trucks over 10K GVW used radar detectors which violates federal law. In short, they slow down and become alert as long as they detect a radar signal. I don't care what they do up the road as long as they are careful near me.
