SteveL1948 - Welcome to RV.Net. It takes a lot of time to read all of the postings in this thread. I have been keeping up since 09/15/03, so I have been reading them as they were posted. I have added you as another owner of a Trail-Lite in my Excel spreadsheet. I started that way back because Trail-Lite made a number of different models on different chassis. I would forget who owned what and I found that frustrating. There have been over 100 different owners that posted to this topic. There have been a number that admitted to owning one with a V-10 engine. Don't recall anyone posting in this thread about problems with filling the gas tank, but have read about that in other threads. Usually, it has been either a kinked filler tube or a pinched vent tube. Unfortunately, it might not be real easy to see the filler tube and vent tube from under the unit. May have to wait until the tank is almost empty and lower the tank. You might be able to take pictures with a small digital w/flash where you can not get your head into position. Don't be afraid to snap many pictures as those that are not very helpful can be easily deleted.
