If you are talking about replacing the black and gray tank vent caps with the swivel type caps think twice about. Here's a tip i picked up that saved me ton/s of money. I was having an odor problem from my tanks. Instead of the $40.00 each swivel caps, it was suggested that i used PVC t pipe. the cost about 2.99 each and do a great job.

It's interesting that you just moved out of a big fifth wheel. I have almost done the same! I'm hoping my 36 ft CarriLite sells before my TrailLite 293TS is delivered. We had the fifth wheel, truck and a Big Foot truck camper until the February RV show. We enjoyed the truck camper when it was just the two of us movin' down the highway. We enjoyed the fifth wheel when we brought the kids and grandkids and entertained our RVin' friends. There had to be an in between. The 293TS has three slides, is shorter in height, and appears to be easier to drive than any motor home I've had. It's so hard to figure out what type of RV lifestyle you'd be happiest with. I hope this is it. I just can't figure out what I'm going to do with all the stuff I took out of the fifth wheel. Delivery is supposed to be in 2 to 3 weeks. Anyone need 200 ft of extra water hose?

Gene, that seems like a great idea! Where did you get it? I've been thinking about removing mine just because I am not sure it does anything. Anyone agree?
In addition, while cleaning snow off my rv roof last week, I broke/cracked the bathroom exhaust fan cap and both plumbing drain caps. Luckily I was a mile away from the parts place owned by the dealer I rent my space from, and replaced the fan cap right away. I held off on the other 2 because I was wondering about those 'cyclone' and other directional/swivel type caps. Anyone try them?

Not any real serious question, but have any of you replaced your inside rear view mirror with an after market mirror? We replaced ours with one that shows the outdoor temperature, a directional compass, and has two map lights. I have found this to be indispensable. I usually have good orientation except when driving in mountainous areas after dark. That compass sure comes in handy. The outdoor temperature often provides an advance notice on whether to turn on the A/C or the heater. And...the map lights keep the glare off the windshield when a map needs to be read.

Take a look at the Lexington sight. We have a 2005 Lexington 255DS GTS and are very happy with it. The V10 is a great motor plenty of power.

I am looking at a lexington GTS 26 ft. any pos or neg reviews would be appreciated! What about the V-10 ? Down sizing from a 38 ft 5th wheel with 3 slides. thanks JARVOMATIC

A friend did the woodwork for me. The cabinet is all one piece and is removable with 7 screws - two on each side just above mid-shelf, one at top center, and the two that fix the friction latch at the front lower right. My friend did a wonderful job of keeping it light and easy to remove. Even the door panel is changeable by removing the screws that hold the panel's retaining frame in place (see inside of open door).

Now to find a TV and figure how we want to place it. I have been learning a lot about small LCD TV's, with the most interesting fact (and important to RVers) being that beginning 3/1/2007, all TV sets shipped from manufacturers must have a built-in digital tuner if the set is to have any tuner at all. Currently, no small LCD sets (under 25" diagonal) that I have seen have digital (ATSC) tuners - they only have the familiar good old analog (NTSC) tuners - and there will be no over the air (OTA) analog signals after 2/17/2009. This means your RV crank-up antenna will do you no good unless you buy a set top digital tuner to go between your antenna and your TV. I think older analog sets can somehow play the digital signal from a set top box, they just are not any sharper (i.e., not High Definition).

I was prepared to do like most folks and ignore this lack og a digital tuner until I realized that my RV antenna has a power booster, and while it catches snowy pictures when in parks located at some distance from towns that have a TV station, that TV station may be simiutaneously broadcasting in digital, and my antenna may just catch it. Unlike analog signals, if you can catch the digital signal at all, it will be a near prefect picture - no snowiness. So having the potential for clear TV over the air today makes me want that ATSC tuner in my little LCD TV today.

LCD sets above 17" start to get kinda heavy and thus are not so easy to store in a cabinet when not in use, and this storing-away is probably the route we will go. A TV may look good attached to that big door, but the viewing angle is not so comfortable, and hardware to flex it down gets bulky.

I guess I'll wait a few weeks to see if small LCD sets built with both NTSC and ATSC tuners start showing up before picking one.
