Back to a class C, never felt better about an RV

Well after a short time away from them, about 5 years, we are back in a class C. We tried the Class A thing, you can have that. We owned three different travel trailers, one of witch was a hybrid. I had way more truck then needed for each trailer, but never really liked an RV back there that we could not use while moving down the road. Well with 2 kids now, we are back to a class C. We found a decent price on a pretty good 2003 Winnebago 26B, pretty low miles too, 35k. The best part got it for under book trade in price and the seller just wanted out of there payment, as they needed that monthly money for other things.

Here she is the nice we left the deposit on her.

  • Very nice looking unit.

Your experience is a testament to the fact every one has specific preferences.

I would not have a "C" if you gave it to me. But that is just me.

    Enjoy your rig.

If it's motor is the V10, you might want to have it's exhaust manifold bolts inspected.

We have just over 49,000 miles on our 2005 Itasca and I was shocked when the mechanic said that I had a one broken manifold bolt, but not to worry .... probably OK to let it go for a bit.

I didn't let it go - but gulped at the $$$$ bill to have the one manifold re-machined flat and all ten bolts replaced. I hope there's not some quirk going on such that this is going happen some more. :(

Lots of good info on the Winnebago web site and we have found Winnebago Customer Service to be very helpful.

BTW, I think your model is a 29B.
  • Congrats. There are two nice things about a class "C" over a TT. The first is the ability to just stop, walk back, use the bathroom, or just take a nap. The other is that it can sit in the driveway and be ready to go at a moment's notice.
