Bad Lippert O ring

I have had a small hydraulic leak from the pump system for a while. I finally narrowed it down to the o-ring between the plastic tank and the pump itself. It's a 3.5" o-ring. Looks like whoever installed it did not get the o-ring in level all the way around as it had a twist in it. Ok, I'll just get a new o-ring from Lippert and replace it. Well, much to my surprise, Lippert will not sell replacement o-rings. What a crappy way to treat a customer who spends mucho money on their products. I could probably rotate the o-ring to the top so that it's above the fluid level but I'd rather fix it right. Other than Amazon, where could I get a replacement O-ring that has a flat surface? Lippert stinks!
  • Thanks for posting this I have the same problem. I'll try the bolts but if not I have a hydraulic shop near me that has o rings. This is a common problem and Lippert would rather sell you a new 2k pump.

Never got a response from Lippert or any of the on line companies that makes custom o rings. Probably not interested in making one o ring. I did resolve the problem. I added a small washer to each of the 4 hold down bolts. This gave me more compression on the o ring. I think the bolts were bottoming out on the pump. Anyway, I now have it fixed with no help from Lippert!

No response? I just went to LCI online store and put the o ring in my shopping cart. I did not order it, but it did not stop the process. Glad you found a solution, but I still think a $30 (including shipping) would have been worth the effort. Doug

I don't think it would have been worth anything. Lippert sucks! Everything they make, distribute, or are involved with is low grade junk. Then they do everything possible to force folks into buying their service or replacement parts by making them as proprietary as possible then mark the Chinese junk up way more than its actually worth. Everything from $30.00 O rings to $900 12 vdc motors. They're a large part of the problem with the overall junk produced by the entire RV Industry.
