I only do a few thousand miles a year but i live on long island so im constantly going over the bridges to get in and out of this overcrowded hell hole. The roads to leave this island are BRUTAL. unavoidable pot holes and the coach is just getting thrashed for the first hour of every trip. Its violent driving thru this area sometimes.
Anyway, i bought this rv about 2 years ago, it had some front end clonking that i sucessfully ignored for the first trip. After that. My mechanic realized someone put the wrong balljoints in and they were hitting the control arms over bumps when the suspension would compress. He did new ball joints at that time. Maybe the old ones were the non rv balljoints mentioned?
Fast forward to today and the balljoints are a sloppy mess once again. So i guess they lasted more like 18 months. The drag link and tie rods arent great either. But i dont know the age of those. The truck actually drives pretty well with the worn out parts but i dont want to let the front end go to total garbage. Its probably a good idea to nip these problems in the butt before they cause drivability issues.
Fast forward to today, and the ball joints have slack again.
