Basement storage

Haven't had a chance to change my profile yet, been to busy moving all the stuff from the Winnebago, to the Allegro Red 38QRA. Ten years worth of "important" stuff added with each trip really adds up. Today I think I put everything going into the bay storage in tubs or strapped groups and stuffed it all away. I no longer have to worry about the tables sliding, the bay storage is tightly packed. Maiden voyage next week, 4 or 5 days to Sacramento and back, without the toad, just to get the feel of the diesel.

You don't state which model Allegro you have and your profile says you have a Winnebago. If its a gas model it will have pass through but only the top half of the compartment goes through to the other side. I had problems with the stored items sliding out and on top of the items stored in the bottom half. All I did was fasten a metal wire strap to the top and bottom of the pass through portion and connected a black bungee to each one. Keeps everything in place.

We use non-slip mesh drawer liner. One sizeable piece goes under the folding table (laying on its top), then more mesh, then a chair, more mesh and another chair. The mesh keeps them from moving and from scratching each other, too.

Ours have a non slip rubberized type surface so things don't slide. We also have enough junk in them that there is no room for anything to slide.

Yep, there is no room left in my storage bays for things to slide around. I also use the clear storage bins. Don't have to pull them out to see what is in each one.

Ours are carpeted. No sliding allowed.

Ah, the luxury of relatively empty storage bays! Enjoy it while you can... you'll soon have enough stuff in there that sliding around won't be an issue.

After trail and error I have an assortment of clear bins that everything fits into and "fills" the basement side to side and front to back.

This works really well in keeping things organized, and from sliding around when traveling down the road.

There are a lot of bin companies out there and they all make different sizes.

You want to spend some time here and think about what you carry.

The largest bin is not always the best, also think about weight.

You definitely want clear bins as labeling is a pain to see and contents of bins will change as your storage requirements evolve.

I lay the folded table top side down and put other stuff on top of it. Haven't noticed any sliding around at all.
