Again, more information to chew on and really appreciated. So it is beginning to sound like the V-10 may be a relative good thing when compared to its predecessors? But then, I think ya'll already knew this... :) Its amazing how much bad press the V-10 plug issue has had and how little press the other issues brought up have had.
And I can relate to the overheating. The Class C that we had was an older one with small block chevy (carburetor), and I carried a spare starter with me due to heat burning them up. The floor did get hot, but we put in some reflective materials which helped some.
My wife and I looked at a DP today and we're still thinking about it, but we'll probably pass as the owner wants 25% over NADA and there were other issues found.
Many thanks again to all for the info. We'll continue to digest this info and continue to look. I hadn't realized that the 454 & 460 were running so hot, but remembering back to our small block, I can only imagine what a big block would do if air flow wasn't improved.
