My wife had more serious problems than you describe. We also used a shower chair. For grab bars I used 2 good quality suction ones from Lowes. They will come loose sometimes during travel but you can reinstall them in a second. They never gave way while she was using them. I also changed the the shower head to one a hand held one. My wife would enter the shower turn around and sit down. Using the hand wand she was able complete her shower with only a little help. I always stayed close in case she dropped the soap or needed any help. By using the suction grab bars you can move them around until you find the spot that works best for your wife.
