A couple of suggestions:
1) You can get suction cup grab bars at Lowes, etc. They work incredibly well, provided you have a smooth surface to attach them to. I put one in our MH shower.
2) After DW had double knee replacement surgery we bought a shower stool which she used very satisfactorily in taking a shower. Those are available at medical equipment dealers, and better pharmacies. Not very expensive.
