I am considering blindly installing two 6V batteries to experience how they perform over the years. I got 2 good years (+1 marginal) from our first pair of 12V batteries, and 3 good years (+1 marginal) from our second pair. What do I have to loose? The experience alone would be quite valuable to me.
I am having great difficulty in finding a local brick & mortar store to purchase large 6V batteries from. I live in the Chicago north-west suburbs with piles of stores so I would think there is someone local. I am leaning very heavily on lead acid deep cycle to keep the cost down, and learn from them.
Again, please keep the discussion going. I have not yet bought anything, and likely will wait until spring anyway, in hopes to get a fresher pair.
