I'm curious about the PD multi-stage units: How are they at automatically dropping down from their boost voltage to their absorption voltage?

I know that one of their outstanding features is the pendant which allows the user to force boost and the time in boost, but was wondering if you must use the PD units' manual method for best charging times.
