I am seeing 14.1 or .2 volts at the battery terminals at idle. I recently replaced both solenoids both had failed within the last 2 years. I was just wondering if I could run another line from my alternator directly to the house batteries to take full advantage of the 180 amp alternator with out hurting anything. I'm not sure if Pianotuna is describing this with his switchable paths? I was thinking with a heavy wire and a switch I would be able to pump more amps directly into the house batteries when needed for a recharge between GC's.
