Have a Lance 2016 995 TC. Wanting to add a stand alone battery charger. It came with 2 group 24 batteries which I may change to group 27's when the time comes. I know that the converter is not the bes...

Schumacher is well know in chargers.
I have 2 of theirs computerized chargers and 25amp charge is really good.
The other is also 75 amp starting booster and is loud, so test the noise before buying.
But before crossing off your camper converter, check what exactly it is.
For 2016 I would expect decent one.
The 40 amp converter in my 2004 camper will not support jacks, while 30 amp truck wire will, but I monitor voltage during charging and even it goes too high on long storage, I does decent job on standard recharging.
