- wvabeerExplorerThanks for the solder idea Pianotuna .Just took some time and a really good soldering gun with a propane torch.
- John_JoeyExplorerYou'll see battery post melts like that on golf carts when the nut is not tighten down enough, or the battery cable is inferior, or compromised.
Yes, a golf cart motor draws a lot of amps (200 plus). Nothing on a RV other then an inverter draws huge amounts of amps, unless it was a combinations of many things running at the same time. - 2oldmanExplorer II

At only 7 amps, I find it hard to agree, especially with the lack of damage to anything else.
12 volt fan motors can draw steady amps enough to melt lead, especially if the dumbass(me) didn't get it tight enough. - wvabeerExplorer

Not even remotely likely, unless it shorted out.
so I think the fan motor running the whole time caused the big draw.

I would look under where the jacks were placed for a damaged wire.2oldman wrote:
OK, no response. If this is from a big draw you need a fuse. If you already have a fuse, you need a smaller one.
I have no inverter. I'd say this happened when I took it over to get tires, it was cold day so I ran the furnace. So I think the fan motor running the whole time caused the big draw.
When you find the damage ask the tire shop to reimburse you for the new battery and repairing the wire.- 2oldmanExplorer II

- 2oldmanExplorer IILooks like you're drawing a lot of current. Got big inverter?
