I originally had three Deep Cycle 8D AGMs in my trawler. One for each engine, one for house. As they expire I am replacing them with two sealed deep cycle wet cell batteries that I can handle by myself. An 8D is b++++ to handle. Properly maintained an AGM can last a very long time. I have one left that is about 8 years old and is probably needing to be replaced this spring. It will be my last AGM. For extended dry camping in an RV or long cruises with a boat, the 8D AGMs are hard to beat but for the average RV user probably not worth the cost. And impossible for all but the very physically strong to handle.
