Bay heater snap disk in HR>?

Where is the snap disk located that turns on the bay heater for my motorhome..I'd like to test it..I've been to temps in the high 20's and except one winter when I stored it outside a few years ago, it has yet to be active when I turn on the switch..The temp in the wet bay got down to 45 which is still not enough for that disk to go but the wires from the heater go up in a conduit and that's all I could see..Coach in signature...Thank you

  • Awesome. I've used the can air spray upside down to "cool things down" real fast. Perfect suggestion for this application.
  • Found it on right side in wall behind the open hole in the plastic...spritzed a bit of feather duster upside down which is cold and CLICK...on it went heat and all...thank you all for helping me test this.
  • I looked in the mess..I did see something small on the right side wall (looking in) just next to the intellitec relay...with 2 wires on it but with my luck (which is about none), I didn't want to chance it...it went on once a few years ago when I checked on it in the dead of winter outside storage and it did work, but it has yet to come on since when I put it on standby...the bay dropped to 45 degrees when in Asheville and in Raleigh which isn't enough..but between the heated hose, the fireplace and the two furnaces going, the coach would roast me out.I also routed one of the furnace hoses above the grey tank where the shower drains...the radiant heat from the fireplace also helped...my water tank is insulated although in a separate bay, I did have extra heaters avail to put in the cargo bay just in case but with 45 degrees in the bay, I had no worries....This coach seems very well insulated....the water pump, access to tanks and such are right in the wet bay....
  • "bullydogs"....On the Monaco's, it's where doug stated. It's about the size of a dime and is usually mixed in with the wiring, within inches of the heater. Your interior switch has a light next to it. Keep in mind, that light only comes on when the "snap disc" activates and turns the heater on.

Monaco's were notorious for those discs going bad. We had our Monaco for ten years and the disc still worked, but we only got into cold enough weather once, where I saw that light on the panel light up.
  • There are 3 places. ALL are behind that white plastic top cover above the bay heater. On the forward wall above the heater. Right above the heater. On the rear wall above the heater. Just use a can of PC air upside down to test it. That will freeze it to test. Doug
