Be careful if you go to America Choice Rv in Ocala, FL

I was returning home from a 2 month stay in Florida and we stopped to see some friends who live in Ocala. I wanted to get the chassis on my Class A greased because it had not been done for a while. I had received an email from America Choice RV and when I saw that the email stated 'Your One Stop Shop for RV Service and Repair' and 'No job to big or to small' and that they had heavy duty lifts and that they were in Ocala, I called and made an appointment. When I arrived, I waited about 15 minutes while the service manager (I think that is what he was) finished talking with another customer. I explained what I wanted and he told the girl at the desk to write it up. She turned to me and said that it would be $135 plus tax. I questioned her and the service manager as to why so expensive. I told them that I had paid half that amount at Freightliner in Gaffney and a local truck tire store for the same service. I again questioned as to why so much just to just grease the chassis, he said that they had to purchase the grease separately (don't know what that has to do with anything). If I hadn't spent a total of a half hour waiting and made a special trip, I would have walked away. The total job, including putting the coach on the lift and greasing the chassis took less than 30 minutes. Even at $130/hour labor, the entire job should have only cost $70 at most which is what I had previously paid.
Sorry for the long post but I though that everyone should be cautious if you stop there for routine service. Make sure you check their pricing first.

  • The day I went to pick up the new TV, an internet search told me a decent price for a spray in LineX bed liner was $450 plus tax. A shop on the way home could do the work.

A few days later I found Trailer Wheel and Frame would have done it for $300.

After regaining my composure, I told them their crappy website cost them an easy sale. The clerk agreed as this was old news to him.

    Life goes on.
  • You had the opportunity to leave and go somewhere else, and you didn't. Pay the bill and move on.
  • What is the complaint? They sent you an e-mail and you took your RV to them. They gave you a quote and you accepted their quoted price. No where in your post did you state that they mislead you or used a bait and switch technique in their e-mail. To bad mouth a repair facility that was up front with their repair cost is absolutely baffling to me.
