Beat the heat in the Southwest
We're new to camping and live in Las Vegas. Trying to find good campgrounds no more than 3-4 hours away that will allow us to get away from the heat. Any ideas?

3-4 hours, the best you can do is high desert, hope to find some forests. It will be cooler than LV, but might still be over 100 F in daytime during the hot season. I've done field work in most of the high desert areas within five hours, July and August there aren't many places cool during the day, but almost always dry enough that your personal cooling system works if you stay hydrated.
