Need some help here. Our 2008 Beaver Patriot Thunder has out lived it's 4-6v Lifeline batteries. Time for a replacement. The Lifelines are a huge capacity (400 a/h) each. We boondock 6 to 8 hrs...

Going to golf cart jars may not be a good solution. For the same load "real" usable capacity may be a lot less than what an L-16 will handle, particularly if a large capacity inverter is being used.
The OP needs to do an energy audit to determine what battery size will meet his needs. And he also needs to try to salvage his quite wonderful L-16 jars before he throws money at a solution.
