bed in BT Cruiser

Our small BT Cruiser 22' in length has 2 opposing jackknife sofas that fold down and supposedly make a king sized bed. We just bought this rv and when we used it and folded both sofas down there is a approx 6 inch space between the two where they are supposed to meet, I was wondering if this is supposed to be like this and what do I use to fill the gap to make a king size bed? Thanks for any help.

  • I don't think it is supposed to be like that. Is it possible that someone relocated one or both sofas closer to the slide walls? The sofas are probably attached to the floor with screws of some sort, simply screwed into the plywood floor that is under the carpeting. That is typical for jacknife sofas. It would be fairly simple to reposition the sofas so that they meet.
  • I suggest you visit this almost 14 year old topic. A lot of ongoing discussions about the small B+ type motorhomes. Our Trail-Lite Model 213, B-Plus, has a sofa across from the dinette which opens to a king size area, we use a queen air mattress as a topper. Plus I have PVC supports to keep flex out of the sofa back and a small sheet of 3/8" plywood under one of the dinette cushions to bridge a small gap between the two areas. We took the RV to Alaska in 2013 for a 79 day trip. It took 5-7 minutes to set up and tear down, including the air mattress and a sleep sack.
